I wanted to take a few minutes to share my Haven Conference 2014 recap. First, a heartfelt thank-you to the DIY Blogger Team for organizing this event — what an impressive undertaking.
This was my first blog conference and it was a perfect fit: not too large and conveniently close to home. I arrived with a few nerves, but they quickly faded. Everyone was excited to meet, swap business cards, and connect. With so much creativity in the room, the business cards were clever and memorable.
The conference offered a mix of blogging sessions, networking with vendors, hands-on skill classes, and evening gatherings. I attended several presentations and came away with practical tips and plenty of inspiration.
The sessions were full of useful guidance that pushed me to rethink parts of my blog strategy. My brain felt pleasantly overloaded by the end of the weekend — in the best way. I’m grateful to the speakers who shared their expertise with enthusiasm and real passion. Although I didn’t attend any of the hands-on workshops this time, they looked engaging and informative; I’ll try them next year.
Attendees received a beautiful turquoise bag stuffed with vendor swag — a thoughtful touch from the event sponsors. It was fun to see so many useful and creative products packed inside.
It was wonderful to meet fellow bloggers in person and to discover new blogs to follow. There was a lot of activity on Instagram, sharing highlights and behind-the-scenes moments. Every now and then I took a quiet minute to breathe and soak it all in.
Now that the conference excitement has wound down, I’m back to my everyday routine — catching up on laundry and digesting everything I learned.
